Chris's clients are typically major private family trusts which invest in property.

Given the overheating of the UK property market in recent years, this has entailed the design and execution of transactions in many European and other jurisdictions.

Chris has advised the Government on Gibraltar's revised tax system and played a major part in the drafting of the legislation.

Having previously worked for the UK Inland Revenue and having run the Gibraltar Tax Office for three years, he is able to advise clients and other teams in the partnership on the operation of the Gibraltar tax system and its interaction with other legislation of Gibraltar and with the tax legislation of other jurisdictions.

Chris has over the years worked on many occasions with UK accountants in researching and quantifying liabilities for reports to the UK Revenue authorities where avoidance or evasion involving Gibraltar entities is suspected or admitted.

Chris is author of the last edition of Tolley's Taxation in Gibraltar, and it's successor Tottel's 'Gibraltar' International Finance Centre'; he has also contributed articles to various publications.

Chris graduated from Durham University 1971, was with the UK Inland Revenue from 1971 to 1996, and joined Hassans in 1997. He was called to bar 2000 and became a Partner 2003.
